English meaning
Kali, the dark; Karali, the fearsome; Manojava, swift as thought; Sulohita, deep red; Sudhumravarna, smoke-coloured; Sphulingini, scattering sparks; and the divine Vishvaruchi, shining everywhere: these are the seven flickering tongues of fire.
Explanation
The tongue metaphor presents fire as receiving or consuming the offerings. Kali and the other names designate flames here; the passage need not be turned, without further evidence, into a list of seven independent goddesses.
Context
The sacrificial flames receive seven distinctive names and qualities.
