English meaning
One should contemplate it as “bowing”; desirable things bow before that person. One should contemplate it as “Brahman”; one becomes endowed with Brahman. One should contemplate it as “Brahman’s encompassing dissolution”; hostile rivals perish around that person, and so do those enemies who are unwelcome. That which is here in a person and that which is there in the sun is one.
Explanation
Kāmāḥ can refer here to desired objects or enjoyments. Parimara is a difficult term associated with destruction or encompassing dissolution, so the rendering is interpretive. The statement about opponents dying is preserved as historical language, not advice to harm actual people or a guarantee of such an outcome. The closing sentence returns from multiple contemplative forms to unity.
Context
The pairs of contemplation and fruit now extend to bowing, Brahman, and parimara. Ancient language about the destruction of enemies is followed by the assertion of one reality in the person and the sun.
