स जातो भूतान्यभिव्यैख्यत् किमिहान्यं वावदिषदिति । स एतमेव पुरुषं ब्रह्म ततममपश्यत् । इदमदर्शमिती ३ ॥ १३ ॥

English meaning
Having been born, it surveyed the beings and considered: what else here could one speak of? It saw this very person as Brahman spread throughout, and exclaimed: I have seen this.
व्याख्या
सृष्टि के आरम्भ की एक आत्मा अब अपने सामने की बहुलता में पुरुष और ब्रह्म की पहचान करती है। ततमम् को यहाँ व्यापकता के संकेत के रूप में लिया गया है। वावदिषत् तथा अभिव्यैख्यत् जैसे रूप कठिन हैं; अनुवाद सम्भावित आशय देता है, उनका पाठालोचनात्मक प्रश्न समाप्त होने का दावा नहीं करता।
Explanation
The single Self of the opening now recognizes the person and Brahman amid the plurality before it. Tatamam is taken as indicating pervasive extension. Forms such as vavadishat and abhivyaikhyat are difficult; the translation offers a possible sense without claiming that the textual and grammatical questions have been settled.
