English meaning
It is not grasped by the eye, by speech, by the other senses, by austerity, or by action. Yet one whose inner being is purified through the clarity of understanding sees that partless Self in contemplation.
Explanation
Seeing here is not the capture of a visible object but the disclosure of the Self in clear understanding. The rejection of austerity does not make the earlier discipline pointless: it distinguishes a supporting practice from treating the Self as something that practice can manufacture or seize.
Context
After calling the Self beyond thought, the text explains how it can be seen without being captured by the senses.
