English meaning
Fire is his head, the moon and sun his two eyes, the directions his ears, and the revealed Vedas his speech. Air is his breath, the whole universe his heart, and earth comes from his feet: he is the inner Self of all beings.
Explanation
A figure whose heart is the whole universe and whose ears are the directions cannot be confined to the outline of an individual human body. The final description as the inner Self of every being brings this expansive image back into relation with the seeker’s own experience.
Context
The list of generated elements becomes an image of the cosmic Person, aligning parts of the cosmos with the capacities of embodied experience.
