अथ यदि द्विमात्रेण मनसि संपद्यते सोऽन्तरिक्षं यजुर्भिरुन्नीयते सोमलोकम् । स सोमलोके विभूतिमनुभूय पुनरावर्तते ॥ ४ ॥

हिन्दी अर्थ
यदि वह दो मात्राओं से युक्त ओंकार के द्वारा मन में तन्मय होता है, तो यजुर्मंत्रों द्वारा अन्तरिक्ष में सोमलोक तक उठाया जाता है। सोमलोक की विभूति अनुभव करने के बाद वह फिर लौट आता है।
English meaning
If one becomes absorbed in mind through Om in its two-measure aspect, the Yajur formulas raise that person to the intermediate region, the world of Soma. After experiencing that world’s splendor, the person returns.
व्याख्या
उन्नीयते उन्नति बताता है, लेकिन पुनरावर्तते उस उपलब्धि की सीमा स्पष्ट करता है। भोग की ऊँची अवस्था और जन्म-मृत्यु से पार जाने का अंतर यहाँ मुख्य है; पाठ का लक्ष्य केवल श्रेष्ठ स्वर्ग चुनना नहीं।
Explanation
Being raised indicates an elevated attainment, but returning marks its limit. The crucial distinction is between a superior condition of enjoyment and going beyond birth and death, not merely choosing a better heaven.
